Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026
Spellbee.fun (“we”, “us”) is a free Spelling Bee word puzzle site. This policy explains what we collect, what we don’t, and how you can control it. If anything here is unclear, reach out via the Contact page.
What we collect
Game progress — the seven letters, the words you find, your rank, and puzzle metadata — is stored locally in your browser’s localStorage. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly share your score via the Share button.
Accounts
There are no accounts. No email, no sign-in, no profile.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled at all, we use a privacy-friendly, aggregated tool (such as Plausible) that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not fingerprint your device. No individual user is identifiable from anything we collect.
Cookies
Spellbee.fun does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Preferences such as dark mode are stored in localStorage, which is not a cookie and is not sent with network requests.
Advertising
If, in the future, we display ads to keep the site free, we’ll disclose the ad network here and the site will comply with that network’s consent rules (including GDPR / CCPA where applicable). No ads are shown today.
Third-party links
Word definitions link out to third-party dictionaries such as Merriam-Webster. Those sites have their own privacy policies — we are not responsible for their practices.
Data retention & deletion
Because progress lives only in your browser, you can wipe everything at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings. There is no server-side profile to delete.
Children
The game is suitable for all ages. Because we don’t collect personal data, there is nothing to handle differently for users under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Spellbee.fun after that date means you accept the revised policy.
